Margaret Klein Salamon

Margaret Klein Salamon is the Executive Director of the Climate Emergency Fund, and the founder & principal of Climate Awakening.[1][2] She founded The Climate Mobilization.[3][4][5] She is the author of Facing the Climate Emergency: How to Transform Yourself with Climate Truth. She advocated for an "all hands on deck" mobilization against climate change.[6]

Biography

A trained clinical psychologist, Margaret founded The Climate Mobilization in 2014 to advocate for a transformation of the economy, politics, and society to respond to the climate emergency.[7] Margaret founded The Climate Mobilization in 2014 after she felt that there were no organizations telling the full truth of the climate emergency.[8][9]

In her work, Margaret has highlighted the importance of processing climate grief[10][11] the psychological reluctance of individuals to see the climate emergency as a threat,[12] and the importance of empowerment self-defense.[13]

Her essays appear in Ecowatch,[14] Grist,[15] and The Hill.[16]

In 2020, Margaret published Facing the Climate Emergency: How to Transform Yourself with Climate Truth, a self-help guide about the climate emergency.[17][18]

In 2021, Klein Salamon became the Executive Director of the Climate Emergency Fund.[19][20] The group funds "more aggressive" non-violent civil disobedience about climate change.[21][22]
