In version 21, support for Android 11 was added.[2] In version 22, support for the Samsung Galaxy S21 was added.[3] In version 23, SafetyNet fixes were added.[4]

The original developer John Wu started working for the Android security team in 2021.[5] In 2021, the RootHide feature of Magisk was discontinued by the original developed John Wu. Arnoud Wokke from Tweakers argued that there is a high chance this feature will be developed by a third party developer as a Magisk module.[6]

Installation

Magisk can be installed by patching boot image with Magisk app and flash through fastboot, or flash Magisk app in custom recovery like TWRP (not recommended on modern devices). Full instructions are available on the repository's page.
