List of countries by northernmost point
This is a list of countries by northernmost point on land. Where borders are contested, the northernmost point under the control of a nation is listed. Non-UN political entities and dependent territories are listed but not ranked.
Notes
- The political status of Kosovo is disputed. Having unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008, it is formally recognised as an independent state by 97 UN member states (with another 15 recognising it at some point but then withdrawing recognition), while Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own sovereign territory.
- Israel claims that a point at 33°21′, at 2,236 m high on the south slopes of Mount Hermon, is its northernmost point. Israel has annexed and administers the relevant Golan Heights territory, but its territorial claim is disputed in international law, and is unrecognised by other countries and most international maps.
