The below list is about the area of largest cities in India. The cities are ranked by the area governed by local political bodies such as Municipality or Municipal Corporation This is a list of cities in India with an area of more than 400 km2. The city of Kolkata is not included in this list because 206.1 km2 is governed under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Greater Kolkata has an area of 1887 km2, which comprises of 4 Municipal Corporations and 37 individual Municipalities.
This list is only for one municipal corporations area. Greater Jaipur and Heritage Jaipur become two separate municipal corporations so this list is not included.
