‡‡‡ The number of wins Athletic Bilbao have been credited with is disputed. The 1902 Copa de la Coronación used as the basis for the Copa del Rey was won by Bizcaya, a team made up of players from Athletic Club and Bilbao Football Club. In 1903 these two clubs merged as the current Athletic Bilbao.[2] The 1902 cup is on display in the Athletic museum and the club includes it in its own honours list as a Copa del Rey win for a total of 24, but the Royal Spanish Football Federation does not include the 1902 tournament in its official list, notwithstanding the debate over the status of Bizcaya.
Notes
- The game was played behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain.
