History

The name Lightridge High School was chosen to recognize the history of agriculture and dairy farming in the area.[3] The school is located off Lightridge Farm Road and near the site of Light Ridge Farm, a now closed dairy farm which operated for more than 60 years and was the last working dairy farm in Loudoun County east of Route 15.[4]

On October 26, 2021, students at Lightridge High School and other Loudoun County Public Schools performed walkout protests in support of two female students who were sexually assaulted by the same male student at Loudoun schools.[5][6]
