Kyungpook National University Hospital

Kyungpook National University Hospital is a national university hospital located in 130 Dongdeok-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu City, South Korea.

The first Western medicine was introduced to Daegu city in 1897, at Widespread Relief House.

On July 21, 1910, before Korea was annexed by the Empire of Japan, Emperor Sunjong prepared a budget with Act No. 6 and revised the name to Jahye Clinic with Royal order No. 38, as if it had already been established in three places on August 21, 1909.

In accordance with the National University Hospital Establishment Act [Act No. 4350], on March 25, 1993, the name was revised to Kyungpook National University Hospital, a special corporation, and promotes medical development and contributes to the improvement of public health through education, research and treatment related to medicine under the Higher Education Act.

It is designated as other public institutions under the Ministry of Education.

  • August 21, 1909: Jahye Clinic opened in Hamheung, Cheongju, Jeonju according Emperor Sunjong's Royal Orefer No. 75
  • September 7, 1910 Daegu Jahye Clinic opened
  • May 11, 1912 Renamed to Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Daegu Clnic
  • October 1, 1945, Renamed to “Affiliated Hospital of Daegu University Medical School following the reorganization of the Daegu College of Medicine into Daegu University Medical School
  • April 1, 1952, Renamed to “Affiliated Hospital of Kyungpook National University’s College of Medicine” following the opening of Kyungpook National University
  • March 1, 1988 Affiliated Hospital of Kyungpook National University's College of Medicine renamed as “Kyungpook National University Hospital”
