History

Kranji Secondary School was established in 1995 and was temporarily housed for that year in Chestnut Drive Secondary School with a Secondary One cohort. The school moved to its present campus in 1996 at 61 Choa Chu Kang Street 51.[1] From the very beginning, the school has been a co-educational school for students from all three streams – Express, Normal Academic and Normal Technical.

Although the school is named Kranji Secondary School, it is located not in Kranji, but in Choa Chu Kang. It was temporarily housed at 38 Teck Whye Crescent when its main site was undergoing renovation from 2017 to 2018. It has since returned to its campus in Choa Chu Kang.

In 2005, the television series version of the film I Not Stupid Too (2006) was shot at Kranji Secondary School's campus.
