Korea University Business School
Korea University Business School (hereafter called KUBS) is the business school of Korea University in Seoul, South Korea. KUBS was the first university department in Korea not only to open its doors to business studies but also to introduce western-style business studies to Korea. The school offers an undergraduate program, full-time and part-time MBA programs, MS/PhD programs, as well as few other non-degree programs. KUBS received Korea's first accreditation from AACSB in 2005 and EQUIS in 2007, respectively.

History
Bosung College, the prototype of Korea University, was established in 1905 initially with the commerce and law faculty. One of Korea's best and oldest tertiary education institutions, Korea University was founded by Lee Yong-Ik, Treasurer of the Royal Household. As an academic institution of nationalistic origin, it was regarded as a symbol of national pride during the colonial period (1910-1945) (see Korea under Japanese rule). Following Independence in 1945, the status of Bosung College was elevated to that of a university encompassing three colleges: Political Science and Law, Economics and Commerce, and Liberal Arts (see Korean independence movement).
KUBS became a separate administrative unit in 1946, becoming the first business school established in Korea with such a long history. In 1963, the college commenced its KMBA (Korea MBA), which is the first MBA program commenced in Korea. Since its establishment and developments over the years, KUBS has been the pioneer of business education and research in Korea.
As the best in Korea, KUBS has educated numerous talented individuals with the potential to lead Korea's future over the past 110 years and will continue in playing its role as a pioneer in history in the global era of the 21st century.
Accreditations and Rankings
Korea University Business School currently holds five-year accreditation from AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System). In addition, KUBS is ratified as a full academic member of CEMS. KUBS received Korea's first accreditation for its entire degree program in 2005 and has consecutively achieved a five-year accreditation in 2010, 2015, and 2020 by AACSB. KUBS received EQUIS accreditation and five-year re-accreditation in February 2007 and June 2010, respectively. In February 2022, KUBS achieved a five-year re-accreditation for the third consecutive time.
In 2021 Top 100 Executive MBA rankings by Financial Times, UK,[1] KUBS's Executive MBA placed first in Korea, 20th in the world. In the 2022 QS World University Rankings, Korea University is ranked 48th for Business & Management and 59th for Accounting & Finance.[2]
Programs
Undergraduate
Over 68% of the courses in the business school are taught in English. As of February 2021, the number of graduates at the business school is 24,257.
MS
The MS program offers business education in eight different areas under the Department of Business Administration and Department of International Business. Over 80% of courses are taught in English.[3]
PhD
The PhD program offers a curriculum for prospective academic researchers in ten distinct areas. The school provides financial support for doctoral students by granting a variety of assistantships and scholarships.[4]
Global MBA
Global MBA program is an intensive 1-year full-time program. The program consists of 6 modules. Students may earn a MBA degree from KUBS or a dual degree delivered by KUBS and one of the partner schools depending on their academic track.[5]
Global MIM (CEMS)
The Global MIM is a one-year full time program where students would enroll in the KUBS Master's program for one semester and spend the second semester in one of the CEMS 34 education institutions. KUBS, the only academic member of the CEMS Global Alliance in Korea. Qualified candidates will earn master's degree from KUBS MIM (Master's in Management) and certificate of CEMS MIM (Master's in International Management). Students can learn not only from lectures but also from global diversity in class. Global MIM program has students from all parts of the world and a wide range of business and cultural backgrounds. S3 Asia MBA
The S³ Asia MBA is a one-and-a-half-year program during which students spend each semester at three universities in three different countries in Asia: Shanghai (Fudan University), Seoul (Korea University), Singapore (National University of Singapore).This program offers students access to the three best business schools in Asia and a globally-renowned faculty[7]
Executive MBA
EMBA is designed for current executives and CEOs with more than 10 years of professional experience. EMBA is a two-year weekend program for advanced and specialized knowledge and skills in business practice.[8]
Finance MBA
The Finance MBA is a two-year evening program that takes place over four semesters (minimum 45 credit hours) on biweekly Saturdays and summer/winter courses.[9]
Korea MBA
The Korea MBA is a two-year evening program that consists of 45 credit hours offered throughout four semesters for an MBA degree. Admission is open for candidates who are currently working.[10]
Advanced Management Program (AMP)
The program is designed for executives and CEOs who pursue practical and field-based business and corporate education.[11]
ESG Advanced Management Program (ESG-AMP)
The program is designed for executives and CEOs who interested in 'ESG' issues.[12]
Management Studies Program (MSP)
Offered in once-a-week class, the program provides a range of special lectures and discussions throughout diverse disciplines including humanities, arts and health science for senior leaders with experience.[13]

As of 2022, KUBS has exchange partnerships with 103 universities from 32 countries where students have the opportunity to participate in the exchange program.

The school offers social events by inviting current students and alumni, such as KUBS Alumni Night, Student-Alumni Mentoring Day, MBA Alumni Homecoming Day, and so on.
KUBS Startup Station
Established under Korea University Business School Startup Institute, KUBS Startup Station is a 'Platform for Inspiring Innovation & Entrepreneurship'. It is a space where future entrepreneurs who have gathered from diverse backgrounds with interest in the startup business achieve innovation through sharing and cooperation. The KUBS Startup Station comprises 'Iljin Center for Startup Incubation' and 'Seung Myung-Ho Center for Entrepreneurship Education'. Seung Myung-Ho Center regularly opens 'Startup Express' which is a competition for the entry into the institute. Participants compete for financial support by the startup institute. Iljin Center holds a startup demo day event 'Choo Choo Day' where KUBS startup teams present their business ideas to academics and potential investors.
CPA preparation program, Jeongjincho (精進礎)
KUBS runs CPA preparation study group in Korea. Jeongjincho offers a variety of learning materials including textbooks and lectures. The study group also has the opportunity to meet with alumni who passed CPA and currently work for major accounting firms.
Civil Service entrance examination preparation program, Takmajeong (琢磨停)
With its exclusive study space, Takmajeong offers a range of assistance for the preparation of Civil service entrance examination. The program provides mock PSAT exams and lecture materials to encourage an outstanding outcome in the exam.

Facilities
KUBS offers educational facilities in three buildings, KUBS Main Building, LG-POSCO Building, and Hyundai Motor Hall.
KUBS Main Building
KUBS Main Building was built in 1972. The building was renovated with the establishment of KUBS Startup Institute. It was designed for the building to have the most updated technological facilities and to represent the long history of the business school. KUBS Main Building covers a total area of 6,097㎡, it is where you can find when any key academic support is needed.
LG-POSCO Building
LG-POSCO Building was opened in 2005 to commemorate the centenary of Korea University's founding, with the vision of becoming the best business school in Asia based on RDBR, research, business-academia cooperation, and international exchanges. A six-story building completed in October 2003, its total floor size stands at 14,121 ㎡. The Hall features lecture rooms and various facilities, including Lounge, Supex Hall, faculty offices and Sudang CLC lab.
Hyundai Motor Hall
Hyundai Motor Hall was built in September 2013. Hyundai Motor Hall is the third building built for Korea University Business School. This 5 ground and 4 underground levels building covers a total area of 15,470㎡, it has 28 faculty offices and 16 high-technology lecture rooms, and 51 group study rooms accessible to students. KUBS students are more than welcome to use our group study rooms, which can be reserved via online reservation system.
In addition, for students' convenience, a student lounge is located on every floor. We also offer cultural facilities such as open theater. Finance for Hyundai Motor Hall came from over 3,600 sponsors raised from December 2009 to September 2013.
Campus life

The Granite Tower Festival (Seoktap Daedongje)
Commenced in 1962, the Granite Tower Festival is the university's annual festival held for students, faculty members, alumni as well as the local community. “Ipselenti” – Cry of “Ji Ya” is a cheerleading routine performed at the end of Seoktap Daedongje festival. Attendants sing the university's cheering theme songs and dance along the routine. Professional singers are invited for performance as well. “Ipselenti” is a part of the university's slogan that has been used since the establishment of Bosung College, “Ji” and “Ya” are each short for Jiseong (Wisdom) and Yaseong (Wildness).
Korea-Yonsei Friendship Games (Ko-Yon-Jeon)

Ko-Yon-Jeon is an annual event that has been held every year since 1927.
Korea University and Yonsei University are the two private universities in Korea. It is one of the tradition of the Korea University–Yonsei University rivalry that each year they open a range of sports games including rugby, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey. The games invite students from both universities, where the audience watch the competition between the two institutions.
4.18 Marathon

On April 18, 1960, 3,000 Korea University students stood up against the injustice and dictatorship of the Liberal game. After reading a declaration denouncing President Syngman Rhee, Korea University students headed to the National Assembly Building and were assaulted by political hoodlums after the protest. This assault triggered anger and frustration among fellow students as well as the public which cause the historic event known as the April Revolution (4.19). To commemorate this historic event and to continue the will of the brave Korea University students of the past, every year on April 18 students run a marathon from the main gate of the school to the April 19th Memorial Grave Site in Suyu and pay their respects to the martyrs of the democratization of Korea.
International Student Festival (ISF)
ISF is an annual autumn festival for international students to promote aspects of their home country. The festival provides an opportunity for international students to interact with one another in order to build understanding and communication between different cultures. Over 500 students from more than 20 countries represent their country and culture through food, performance, and handcrafts in their booths.
