Kiki Vijay

Keerthi Vijay popularly known by her stage name, Kiki Vijay[6] (born 11 February 1987) is an Indian actress, television host and dancer who is mainly known for hosting various different reality TV shows. She is well known for hosting television shows such as Namma Ooru Coloru and Singing Stars.[7][8] She is also the wife of actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj.[9][10] Kiki was also titled as one of the Top 10 Most Desirable Women of Tamil TV 2020.[11][12][13]

Kiki also owns a private dance studio called "Kiki Dance Studio" in Chennai which is ran by her and her husband Shanthanu Bhagyaraj.[14][15] Various different celebrities such as Vijay, Suriya, Janani Iyer, Nayanthara, Vikram and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar attended her studio as students for dance rehearsals practices.[16]

Early life

Kiki was born to RK Vijaykumar and V Jayanti on 11th February 1987, in Chennai and was named Keerthi Vijay by birth. She later pursued her bachelors in Visual Communication at Women's Christian College, Chennai. She is also related to veteran choreographers Kala and Brinda.[17] She is also the cousin of actress and politician Gayathri Raghuram.[18][19]

Career

Kiki started her career as a show anchor in the show Maanada Mayilada in the Tamil Television Industry, in which her Aunt Kala was the judge of the show on Kalaignar TV. She later went on to host another reality show one year later called Naalaya Iyakunar which was once again aired on Kalaignar TV.[20][21][22] She has also appeared in a few television commercials as well.[23][24][25]

From 2016 onwards, Kiki hosted various more different reality shows on different television networks such as Zee Tamil and Colors Tamil. She hosted reality shows like Happy Days Season 2, Junior Super Star, Namma Ooru Coloru and Dance vs Dance (season 2).[26][27]

After hosting several shows Kiki later turned into an actress and was featured in the 2017 film Mupparimanam which also featured her husband Shanthanu Bhagyaraj in the film.[28] She later also appeared in music videos such as Glassmates Lipstick and Enga Pora De.[29][30][31]

In May 2020, Kiki and her husband Shanthanu Bhagyaraj opened up a YouTube channel documenting their daily lives on their channel.[32][33]

Kiki also acted in a short film named Konjam Corona Naraiyya Kadhal which is also known by as KoCoNaKa which was released in 2020, the film was also directed by her husband Shanthanu Bhagyaraj playing the role as Priya which is the lead role in the film. The short film received positive reviews from critics stating "One of the best short films ever created".[34][35][36]

Personal life

In 2015, Kiki married actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj who is the son of legendary actors K. Bhagyaraj and Poornima Bhagyaraj.[37][38][39]
