Khartsyzk
Khartsyzk or Khartsyzsk (Ukrainian: Харцизьк, Russian: Харцызск, IPA: [xɐrˈt͡sɨsk]) is a city of regional significance in the de facto Donetsk People's Republic; de jure Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine. The city has a population of Population: 56,367 (2021 est.)[1]

History
Starting Mid-April 2014 pro-Russian separatists took control of several towns in Donetsk Oblast.[2][3][4][5]
Unknown armed men took control of Khartsyzk city hall on 13 April 2014 and declared it part of the Donetsk People's Republic.[6]
A pro-Ukrainian unity rally, one of the few in the region,[7] was held in the town on 22 April 2014.[2]
