Khadija Qalanjo
Khadija Qalanjo (Somali: Khadiija Qalanjo, Arabic: خديجة قالانجو) is a popular Somali singer and folklore dancer in the 1970s and 1980s. She was the first Miss Somalia.

Qalanjo was the singer that started the modernization and enhancement of the Somali folk song tradition of dhaanto, introducing instrumentation where hitherto it had been performed without.
Khadija began dating the Austrian F1 driver Roland Ratzenberger in 1993. She has a son with Ratzenberger which is believed to have been born in late 1994. The relationship between Khadija and Ratzenberger came to an end with the tragic death of Ratzenberger at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, a race in which his close friend Ayrton Senna also died.
She was born in Borama in north western Somaliland.[1]
