Overview

The platform is based on the financial products of the Kazakh retail bank - Kaspi Bank.[8][9]

The company operates on three platforms — payments, marketplace and fintech with the help of mobile super-app.[10][11][12][13]

On November 15, 2008, as a result of rebranding, Bank Kaspiysky JSC changed its name to Kaspi Bank JSC.[14]

On September 16, 2015, on the basis of the Decree of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 166 dated September 16, 2015, Kaspi Joint-Stock Company was given consent to acquire the status of a bank holding (indirect) Kaspi Bank Joint-Stock Company.[15]

On April 2, 2018, Kaspi Joint Stock Company was renamed to Kaspi.kz Joint Stock Company.

On September 17, 2019, Kaspi.kz entered the Azerbaijani market after purchasing online services for placing and publishing private ads for the sale and purchase of cars (Turbo.az), real estate (Bina.az), goods and services (Tap.az).[16][17]

In 2018–2021, Kaspi.kz ranked first among Kazakhstani online shopping sites.[18]

In 2020, Kaspi ranked first among banks in Kazakhstan according to Forbes.[19][20]

In July 2021, Kaspi.kz entered the Ukrainian market by purchasing the Portmone Group payment system. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.[21][22]
