Kanwar Dhillon

Kanwar Dhillon (born 15 March 1993) is an Indian actor who primarily works in Hindi television. He made his acting debut in 2012 with the show The Buddy Project playing Kunal. His first major role came in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2, where he played Aditya Vyas Bhatnagar.

Dhillon then appeared as the lead Vidhaan Nayak in Do Dil Ek Jaan and Shiv Aggarwal in Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee. He is best known for his portrayal of Shiva Pandya in his current show Pandya Store.

Early life

Dhillon was born on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to film actor Deep Dhillon and Radha Dhillon, he belongs to a Punjabi family.[1] He got inspired from his father and wanted to pursue his career in acting. He also has a brother, Karan Dhillon. Dhillon did his graduation in Bachelors Of Mass Media (BMM) from Mumbai's Thakur College of Science and Commerce.[2]

Career

Debut and early career (2012-2014)

Dhillon made his acting debut with the television show The Buddy Project in 2012. He played the role of Kunal in the second season of the show. His first major role came in his second show,Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha in 2013. He potrayed Aditya "Addu" Vyas Bhatnagar in the second season of the show, appearing in a negative role.

In 2013, he appeared in his first lead role of Vidhaan Nayak in Do Dil Ek Jaan, after the leap alongside Shritama Mukherjee. It ended in 2014. In 2014, he played Kartik in Yeh Hai Aashiqui opposite Mrinalini Tyagi and appeared in an episode of Halla Bol. He next appeared as the lead Shivprasad Mishra (Bunty) in Hum Hain Na from 2014 to 2015.[3][4][5]

Lead roles and further career (2015-2018)

In 2015, he played Lucky in an episode of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and appeared as a Guest on Killerr Karaoke Atka Toh Latkah.[6][7]

Dhillon next played the lead role of Arjun Singh in Piya Rangrezz from 2015-2016 and the lead role of Shiv Aggarwal in Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee in 2017. In 2017, he alongside Aakanksha Singh appeared in an episode of Aye Zindagi as Surya.

In 2018, he played for Kota Royals Rajasthan in Box Cricket League 3. He played Sangram in an episode of Laal Ishq. He potrayed Samrat Mittal in Internet Wala Love the same year.

Return to acting and success (2021-present)

Dhillon took a break from acting after Internet Wala Love. During this period he appeared in a music video 'Yaad Baarish Mein' opposite Sonal Pradhan in 2020.[8]

Dhillon made his comeback to television with Pandya Store, where he is seen as Shiva Pandya opposite Alice Kaushik.[9] He rose to fame with his potrayal of Shiva and his chemistry with Kaushik is widely appreciated.[10] For his performance, he received a nomination of ITA Award for Best Actor Drama.

He is seen playing Shiva on the show since 2021.

In the media

Dhillon ranked 34th in UrbanAsian's Top 50 Men of Indian Television, 2021 for his performance in Pandya Store.[11]

Dhillon and Alice Kaushik were placed 10th in Urban Asian's Top ITV Jodis of 2021.[12]
