Kameoka Station is served by the San'in Main Line (Sagano Line), and is located 20.2 kilometers from the terminus of the line at Kyoto.
Station layout
The station consists of two ground-level island platforms connected by an elevated station building. The station has a Midori no Madoguchi staffed ticket office. Entrances to the station are on the south and north side of the station.[1]

History
Kameoka Station opened on August 15, 1899 when the Kyoto Railway extended the line from Saga to Sonobe.[2]. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the aegis of the West Japan Railway Company. The current station building was completed in 2008.
