Kaamnaa

Manav, a hardworking and straightforward government officer, follows his principles and rules of life with complete honesty. In contrast, his wife Akanksha desires to lead a luxurious life with everything she wants. Despite not getting everything they wish for, the two are happy with their son, Yatharth. All goes well until a businessman, Vaibhav Kapoor, who believes anything can be bought by money, falls in love at first sight with Akanksha, his 𝘒𝘢𝘢𝘮𝘯𝘢𝘢 (translation: wish or desire) as he likes to call her, without knowing her real identity.

Manav transfers from Bhopal to Indore and patches things up between Akanksha and her family. Akanksha shares her past with Manav and reveals that she was once Miss Indore, but only because her father bribed the judges. Vaibhav gets closer to Akanksha by buying her old bungalow and even offering her a job to model his company with extra perks. Still, Manav disapproves of this as he suspects Vaibhav’s intentions. After some time, Akanksha falls in love with Vaibhav, leaving Manav shattered.

Akanksha’s leave negatively affects Yatharth’s mental health, where Sakshi, his school counselor, helps him. Sakshi’s husband, Naveen, and son, Parth, died in a car accident and has affected her since. Sakshi sees Parth in Yatharth, forcing her to leave the school after interfering with Manav and Akanksha’s sole guardianship of Yatharth. After losing everything, Manav feels guilty and lets Sakshi and her mother-in-law stay with them for the sake of Yatharth.

Manav wins legal guardianship of his son after Mr. Holkar shows sympathy for him and realizes his past mistakes. Akanksha gets paranoid when she can't find any way to get Yatharth to be with her, even after asking Vaibhav for help which he denies since he hates kids. She kidnaps Yatharth at school while Manav goes on a hunt with the police to find her and also arrest her, but Sakshi stops him from doing so. Vaibhav leaves for America to get his dream project done, leaving Akanksha as CEO in charge until he gets back. Vaibhav hates Akanksha for ruining his image and removes her title as CEO and blames Karan (Akanksha's brother) as he is the supplier, for the loss of many lives.

Sakshi makes Manav realize how to live freely again and how Akanksha only thought about herself and never about anyone else. Akanksha gets under Vaibhav's spell as he promises to give 50% share of his company and even marry her. Manav gets suspicious of Akanksha after she gives a divorce to Manav, not knowing that she wants Yatharth's custody. Things get chaotic and makes its way to court. In court, Akanksha falsely accuses Manav of infidelity and domestic violence. Mr. Shenoy, an experienced but retired lawyer helps Manav and suggests him to fight his own case since he couldn't find a lawyer in the short time he had. After Yatharth was allowed to put forth his statement in court, the case was now in Manav's favor. As everyone celebrate, some suspicious men sneak into Manav's house and puts bags filled with cash and some papers. The next day, there's a raid on his home seizing illegal papers and bribe money found in those bags. Even though Manav is wrongly framed, arrested and defamed by the media, Yathu trusts him. Manav is locked up and his house is sealed. He is badly beaten in jail by the police bribed by Vaibhav. Meanwhile, Yathu, Sakshi and her mother-in-law are staying at Ayesha's (Yathu's friend) place. Yathu gets anxious thinking about his father as Sakshi calms him down. The next day, Vaibhav and Akanksha uses this as an opportunity to snatch Yatharth's custody in court. Mr. Shenoy uses his influence to bail out Manav. The judge gives him a week to prove his innocence and said that his income should also be more than Akanksha’s bank money. Manav manages to find the CCTV footage of his society and proves that he was being trapped. Mr. Holkar and mr. Shenoy convinces Manav to sign as the new CEO of the Holkar industries. Niharika, mr. Holkar's daughter who was married to Vaibhav is missing. Manav decides to help mr. Holkar and bring Vaibhav Kapoor down. Manav wins Yatharth's custody and all celebrate it along with Niharika's birthday.

Since Manav resigned from his previous government job, he has to shift to a new house. Sakshi tells Manav that she and her mother-in-law would also have to shift to Gwalior because of her new job. Hearing this, Yathu gets upset and Manav is also not happy about it. Unknowingly, Manav tells Sakshi his true feelings about her. Yathu hears this and plans to stop Sakshi from leaving them. While packing things, Manav finds a birthday card for Sakshi from her son, Parth. Sakshi's mother-in-law tells Manav how they lost him during a road accident. Manav is shocked to hear Sakshi went through so much. The next day, Yatharth behaves different with Sakshi. He was being distant thinking, this way she won't leave him. Sakshi cries and her mother-in-law tells Manav that she's already broken and now that Yathu and her are separating, it will break her even more. Manav asks Sakshi why was she leaving them when they're habituated of her living with them. He said that she supported them in their bad times so she deserves to take part in their good times as well and shouldn't leave his son, her Parth. Sakshi agrees with tears in her eyes as Manav gives her his handkerchief. Yathu is ecstatic to hear she's not leaving and they all shift to their new bungalow happily. Meanwhile, Akanksha calls the media to announce her and Vaibhav's wedding without his knowledge. She even tells them that she'll also be his 50% share partner of his company. Vaibhav tells Rane (his personal bodyguard/assistant) that it's high time now and he wants to get out of their relationship and the upcoming wedding.
