Supreme Court Historical Society
The Supreme Court Historical Society (SCHS) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and communicating the history of the U.S. Supreme Court.[1] The SCHS's headquarters are at 224 East Capitol Street, NE, in Washington, D.C.,[1] in the Opperman House. The Society was founded in 1974 by U.S. Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, who acted as its first honorary chairman until his death in 1995.[1] The Society publishes a journal, with John Wiley & Sons, the Journal of Supreme Court History.[2]
