Bangu
João Lucas started his professional career in 2019 at Bangu, he played eight matches in the Campeonato Carioca and called the attention of some bigger clubs.
Cuiabá (loan)
On 4 May 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A newly promoted Cuiabá signed João Lucas from Flamengo on a loan deal until 31 December 2021.[3]
