Jammu district

Jammu district is the most populous of the districts in Indian-administered Kashmir, and is home to the winter capital (Jammu) of Jammu and Kashmir. The capital moves to Srinagar city in the summer.[3]

The district has a population density of 596 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,540/sq mi) . Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 12.48%.Jammuhas a sex ratio of 871females for every 1000 males, and a literacy rate of 83.98%.
