J. Robertson (footballer)

J. Robertson was a Scottish footballer who played in The Football League for Accrington.[1] Jim Bonar had not scored since he played the opening League game on 8 September 1888, so was dropped and Robertson replaced him at inside forward. Robertson made his debut at Thorneyholme Road, Accrington, against Burnley. All went well and Accrington won 5–1 but Robertson did not score. The next 2 games were lost and drawn and Robertson did not score so he was dropped and never played League football again.[2]
