History

In 2016, Tatmadaw took over automobile industries from Ministry of Industry (Myanmar). Those factories halted operations under they were transferred to Tatmadaw control.[1] At the time, 200 Innlays were produced annually with plans to increase production to 1,000 Inlays.[1]

Design

The axles for Innlay are produced from Tatmadaw Heavy Industry (Myingyan) and gearboxes are from Tatmadaw Heavy Industry (Magway).[2] The final assembly is done by Tatmadaw Heavy Industry (Htonbo).[3]

The Innlay's gearbox was supposedly made in Myingyan.[4]

Variants

The Innlay is manufactured in a short wheelbase version with a canvas roof and a pair of large folding benches in the rear. This variant is mainly issued to high-ranking officers.

A Type 63 multiple rocket launcher variant and rocket pod variant were seen at the 76th Anniversary Armed Forces Day parade.
