Biography

Black started playing tennis at the age of three. In the years she has played the sport, she has discovered that her favorite surface is on the hard courts.

Despite this her only career title on the ITF tour came on the clay surface in Antalya, Turkey. The American won the doubles tournament alongside Swiss tennis player Svenja Ochsner, back in December 2020.[1]

The American and Swiss duo came through four difficult encounters, with the first three encounters all going to a third set tie-break.

There was a particularly close encounter in the quarter final, against the Turkish and Croatian duo of Cemre Anil and Ena Kajevic, respectively. The third set tie-break went past the expected ten points, with Black and Ochsner eventually coming through by a scoreline of 11–9.[1]

After battling their way to the final, the pair came up against a Bulgarian and Latvian opposition in Gergana Topalova and Daniela Vismane, respectively. Surprisingly, the final match was their smoothest match on the way to the title, winning in straight sets by a scoreline of 7-6 7–5.[1]

This victory rewarded Black with her first ITF title, and she gained $478 in prize money for her success.[1]

2022 started off well for Black, she won two $15K ITF Professional Singles Titles within a span of 3 weeks, both were in Antalya, Turkey. [2]
