History

Housekeep was founded in January 2014 by Avin Rabheru, a former angel investor and venture capital investor. Three months after launch, Housekeep raised $1million in investment[1][2] and used this capital to recruit a senior team including Gareth Lloyd, a software developer for BBC iPlayer[3] with whom Avin attended Oxford University with.[4] Housekeep’s senior team has since branched out, and now includes marketing, product, operations, and customer care experts.

Operations

Housekeep currently operates throughout London, as well as in Brighton, Hove, St. Albans & other areas in the South East. The company's Farringdon office now employs almost 50 members of staff across departments.

Housekeepers on the platform use a smartphone app while working, which centralises their customers’ cleaning and access instructions, as well as their own schedule and working routes.[5]
