Hero of the Republic of Cuba
The title Hero of the Republic of Cuba (Spanish: Héroe de la República de Cuba) is a distinction in Cuba, awarded for heroic feats in service to the Cuban state and society.

Design
Along with similar decorations in the countries of the former "socialist block" (the hero stars of Bulgaria, Mongolia, Czechoslovakia, Romania etc.), the design is based on the Soviet decoration "Hero of the Soviet Union", with the red banner on the ribbon replaced with the Cuban national flag.
