Henry Colley (died 1700)

Henry Colley (1648–1700) was an Irish Member of Parliament.[lower-alpha 1]

Early life

Henry Colley, born in 1648, was the son of Dudley Colley, MP for Philipstown, and the former Anne Warren, daughter of Henry Warren.[1]

His paternal grandparents were the former Anne Peyton (the daughter of Sir Christopher Peyton) and Sir Henry Colley, who acquired substantial lands in County Wexford.[2]

Education

Colley was educated at Trinity College, Dublin.[3]

Career

Colley represented County Kildare from 1698 to 1699.[4]

Personal life

In August 1694, Henry Colley married Mary Ussher, daughter of Sir William Ussher, MP for Dublin County, and Ursula St. Barbe (a daughter of Capt. George St. Barbe).[1] Together, they had six sons and six daughters, including:[5]

Colley, who lived at Carbury Castle, County Kildare, died in 1700.[8]
