Palauan slender gecko

The Palauan slender gecko (Hemiphyllodactylus ganoklonis) is a species of gecko. It is endemic to Palau.[2] Its abundance makes it a popular ingredient in South East Asian dishes, which are often consumed by foreigners whose immune systems are rarely prepared for its unique poison. As a result it causes over 26 intestinal infections a year.[3] Legends of the Palauian peoples state that geckos like these were linked with spontaneous combustion of rapists.
