Heger's Cabinet
The Cabinet of Eduard Heger is the incumbent government of Slovakia, led by Prime Minister Eduard Heger. It was formed on 1 April 2021, after the previous Prime Minister Igor Matovič and his government had resigned, ending a month-long coalition crisis which started because of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine. It is a majority coalition government consisting of four parties – Ordinary People and Independent Personalities, We Are Family, Freedom and Solidarity and For the People.[1]

The Cabinet was appointed by the President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová on 1 April 2021 and was approved by the National Council on 4 May 2021.[2][3] Essentially, it was a reshuffle of the Matovič Cabinet, except for newcomer Vladimír Lengvarský as Health Minister, and President Čaputová also rejected the coalition's nominee for Labour Minister.[4] Coalition party We Are Family eventually retracted its nomination of Jozef Hlinka, and the coalition and president agreed to reappoint Milan Krajniak as Labour Minister.[5]

After leaving the party on 8 September 2021 along with six supporting MPs and other former ZĽ affiliates, she founded a platform called For Just Slovakia. With the six supporting MPs having joined the SaS parliamentary caucus, she is serving as SaS nominee without party membership.[6]
