Hamish Kerr

Hamish Kerr (born 17 August 1996) is a New Zealand high jumper. He first represented NZ at the 2017 Universiade in Taipei City.

In June 2019, Hamish equalled the national record with a jump of 2.30 m, winning the gold medal at the 2019 Oceania Athletics Championships in Townsville.[1] He went on to compete at the Universiade in Napoli in July 2019 and then the World Athletics Championships in October in Doha.

In February 2021, he improved the national record with 2.31 m at Newtown Park Stadium, Wellington,[2] then went to the Tokyo Olympic Games where he made the mens high jump final, finishing 10th with 2.30m.

Kerr competed at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, where he surpassed the 39 year old NZ Indoor HJ Record of Roger Te Puni (of 2.16m) with a bronze medal winning jump of 2.31m (tied with Gianmarco Tamberi).
