Goya Menor

Bright Goya (born 4 May 1995), popularly known as Goya Menor, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper.[1] He is known for his hit cover single Ameno Amapiano Remix.[2][3] It is regarded as the anthem of Detty December.[4] The song peaked at number 7 on Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs,[5][6] and peaked at number 2 on UK Afrobeats Singles Chart for 10 weeks.[7]

Early Life

Bright Goya was born on 4 May 1995 in Edo State, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Edo State. [8]

Career

Ameno Amapiano Remix was released on 16 June 2021.[9] As of November 2021, it had 4.7 million video creates and 9.5 billion views on TikTok.[10]

Ameno Amapiano became popular in late 2021 and was commonly used in night clubs to announce when expensive drinks are purchased.[11][12] It was also responsible for the internet slang phrase 'You want to bamba’. [13][14]

The song was written, sung and rapped by Menor while Nektunez served as the producer.[15]

Ameno Amapiano charted at number 1 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales.[16][17]and number 1 on the Global Shazam chart.[18]

In December 2021, Menor performed the song at the Livespot X Festival by Tiwa Savage.[19][20]

In 2022, it was announced that French DJ, record producer and songwriter David Guetta and Nigerian singer and rapper Zlatan will perform on the remix.[21][22]
