Glitch (South Korean TV series)

Glitch (Korean: 글리치; RR: Geullichi) is an upcoming South Korean streaming television series directed by Roh Deok and written by Jin Han-sae. Starring Jeon Yeo-been, Nana, Lee Dong-hwi and Ryu Kyung-soo,[1] it tells the story of Hong Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-been), who tries to track down her missing boyfriend with the help of members of a UFO club.[2][3] It is slated to release in 2022 on Netflix.[4]

Synopsis

Hong Ji-hyo (Jeon Yeo-been) is from a rich family with many connections. She is hired through a family connection and has a steady job. One night her boyfriend of four years suddenly disappears. She uncovers the truth behind a mysterious secret with the help of a community of UFO watchers. Heo Bo-ra (Nana), a member of the UFO watcher community uses a keyboard as her weapon, with her help Hong Ji-hyo is searching for her boyfriend.

On December 30, 2020, Netflix confirmed through a press release that it would distribute another Korean original series Glitch, to be produced by Studio 329 and written by Extracurricular TV series writer Jin Han-sae.[2][11]

Jeon Yeo-been was offered the main lead in early March. Her previous agency J-Wide Company informed that she was considering it positively.[12] In mid March, director Roh Deok and Jeon Yeo-been confirmed their joining of the series.[13] On March 19, 2021 Nana was confirmed to play role of a twitch streamer in the series.[14]

Filming

On July 23, filming of the series was temporarily stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was reported that an auxiliary performer was confirmed with the COVID-19. The filming was started on 21 May 2021 until 23 December 2021[15]
