George Bligh O'Connor

George Bligh O'Connor (1883 – January 13, 1956) was a Canadian lawyer and judge. He was Chief Justice of Alberta from 1950 to 1956.

Biography

Born in Walkerton, Ontario, O'Connor studied law as Osgoode Hall, where he graduated silver medallist in 1905. He began to practice law in Edmonton in 1905, was appointed King's Counsel in 1913, and was appointed to the Supreme Court of Alberta in 1941. He became Chief Justice of Alberta in 1950 and died in 1956.
