Gabriela Guimarães

Gabriela Braga Guimarães, nickname Gabi,[1] (born May 19, 1994) is a Brazilian indoor volleyball player.[2] She plays as an outside spiker.[3] She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in the Women's tournament, winning a silver medal.[4]

In this Portuguese name, the first or maternal family name is Braga and the second or paternal family name is Guimarães.

Career

Guimarães played with her national team,[5] winning the bronze at the 2014 World Championship[6] when her team defeated Italy 3–2 in the bronze medal match.[7]

During the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship, Guimarães played with the Brazilian club Rexona Ades Rio and her team lost the bronze medal match to the Swiss Voléro Zürich.[8] She helped her national team to win the 2015 South American Championship gold medal[9] and she was also awarded Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter.[10]
