Frank Neuberg
Frank J. Neuberg (about 1909 – May 9, 1961) was a Czechoslovakian-born American professor of Hebrew and Old Testament literature. As a faculty member at Wheaton College, he was an outspoken critic of the Revised Standard Version and called for a better modern Bible translation. In 1953, he served a term as president of the Evangelical Theological Society.
Background and education
Neuberg was born to Jewish parents in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He earned his BD and STM from Faith Theological Seminary (1943), and his PhD from Johns Hopkins University (1950).
Academic career
Neuberg taught at Johns Hopkins from 1943 until 1950, at Wheaton College from 1950 to 1957, and then at North Park Theological Seminary from 1957 until his death in 1961.
