Far Eastern University Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management

The Far Eastern University – Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, or simply ITHM, is the academic institute offering culinary and hospitality programs of the Far Eastern University.[1] Established in 2011, ITHM links theory into practice and focus on areas in hospitality and tourism management aligned with international standards, providing relevant training for its students to become work ready and globally competitive.

Brief History

Established in 2011,[2] ITHM is the youngest institute of the university. The institute was formed to handle the new Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program (replacing the BS Commerce major in Tourism Management)[3] and Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management,[4] which was growing in student population at that time.

The Institute formally opened at the second semester of AY 2010–2011.

Facilities

ITHM is housed within the Alfredo Reyes Hall. Its programs are supported by state-of-the-art kitchen, dining facilities, bar and demonstration rooms all designed to accustom students to professional standards in the industry. Lastly, faculty ensure that students get real world insights since all are seasoned industry practitioners.[5]

Café Alfredo

Café Alfredo is a fully-functioning in-house café and restaurant managed by the HRM students of ITHM.[6] It is located at the Ground Floor of the Alfredo Reyes Hall. It serves as a training ground for the students, with a facility for food service and management.
