Ethan Greenbaum
Ethan Greenbaum (born 1979 in Toms River, New Jersey) is an American artist working in various media including painting, photography and sculpture. He received his BFA in Studio Art from Florida State University[1] and his MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University School of Art.
Artwork
Greenbaum uses a range of painterly, digital and sculptural processes to create multimedia artworks focused on tactile and surreal representations of the landscape and built environment. He is known for low relief works[2] that incorporate industrial-grade equipment and materials including vacuum form machines, 3D Printing[3] and CNC carving. Greenbaum's art has been exhibited at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum,[4][5] Marianne Boesky Gallery[6] and Hauser & Wirth,[7] among others and is held in various public and private collections including the Fidelity Investments Corporate Art Collection and the Musée d'Art Moderne,[8] Paris
Awards and Residencies
Greenbaum is the recipient of awards and residencies including a National Center for Plastic Arts (CNAP) publishing grant, a Queens Art Fund grantee[9] and the Barry Schactman Painting Prize. He has participated in The Silver Art Projects Residency,[10] the Lower East Side Printshop Keyholder Residency,[11] Dieu Donne’s Workspace Residency,[12] LMCC’s Workspace Program, The Robert Blackburn SIP Fellowship, The Socrates EAF Fellowship[13] and The Edward Albee Foundation Residency

Greenbaum’s work has been exhibited in national and international institutions. Selected solo exhibitions include The Suburban,[14] Oak Park; KANSAS,[15][16] New York; Galerie Pact,[17] Paris; Lyles & King,New York; Super Dakota,[18] Brussels; Halsey Mckay,[19][20] East Hampton. Group exhibitions include Derek Eller Gallery,[21] New York; The Aldrich Museum,[22] Connecticut; Philadelphia Photo Arts Center,[23] Philadelphia; Marlborough Chelsea,[24] New York; Hauser & Wirth, New York; Marianne Boesky, New York and Michael Jon & Alan,[25] Miami. Greenbaum is also a co-founder and editor of the thehighlights.org. His writings have appeared in the Brooklyn Rail,[26] BOMB,[27] Paper Monument and others. He has also curated and co-curated exhibitions at venues including The Suburban,[28] Oak Park; Lyles & King,[29] New York and Super Dakota, Brussels.[30]
