Her debut single, "Outta Here" which was released in 2009, peaked at number two in the Netherlands, within the top ten in the United Kingdom and the American Dance Club Songs chart as well as within the top twenty in Ireland and New Zealand. The song received a gold certification in New Zealand and a silver one in the United Kingdom. Denters's debut album was also released that year and it peaked at number five in the Netherlands. The album spawned two more singles, "Admit It" and "Love Dealer", the latter becoming Denters's second song to peak in the top ten on the Dance Club Songs chart. In 2010, Denters was featured on Chipmunk's "Until You Were Gone" which became Denters's highest peaking song in Scotland and the United Kingdom, reaching number three in both and being certified silver in the latter. She was also featured on "Life Without You" by Stanfour, reaching the top thirty in Germany.
In 2012, Denters was dropped from Timberlake's label.[2] She released in the same year the single "It's Summer Because We Say So" as Esmée under the British label 3 Beat Records and was also featured on Erik Arbores's "Dance4life". Denters released the collaborative extended play From Holland to Hillside alongside The New Velvet in April 2013. In the same year, she joined other Dutch artists to perform "Koningslied" as a gift for King Willem-Alexander.[3] The track debuted at number one on the Dutch Single Top 100. Her 2014 single "If I Could I Would" was released indepedently.[4] Denters announced in 2015 that she was going to release an extended play but would require funds via crowdfunding on the music platform PledgeMusic; however the project did not come to fruition as the goal was not met.[5][6] She has further released two extended plays independently, These Days and These Days, Pt. 2 in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
