False sexual abuse and assault accusations
In a March 2018 Instagram post, the day England's most recent film was released in theaters and days after announcing the launch of her screenwriting course, actress and former-girlfriend Katie Stegeman falsely accused England of threatening her with knives, screwdrivers, and scissors, choking her, and throwing her into tables over the course of their three year relationship. The accusations were made in the caption of an Instagram photo of the two, showing Stegeman covered in fake blood and special-effects make-up, taken behind the scenes of a horror film the two shot together in Arkansas. The actress added that England had a surrounding team who were aware of his actions and his encounters with the Los Angeles Police Department. [3]
The allegations, however, were never substantiated, and no further information, investigation, or claims have been made against England. Stegeman also falsely claimed she had reported England's alleged conduct to the Los Angeles Police Department. No police reports were ever made, and England's police record remains clean.
In England's response to the allegations, he denied all allegations and opened up about being undiagnosed bipolar during their relationship. England has since sought treatment and attended therapy and become an advocate for mental health awareness.
Stegeman now reads tarot cards on her YouTube channel, The Violet Tarotist.
