Emmanuel Korir

Emmanuel Kipkurui Korir (born June 15, 1995 in Iten, Eldoret, Kenya) is a middle-distance runner. In 2017, he set the indoor world record for 600 meters.[1] As of 22 July 2018 he is ranked as the sixth fastest athlete over 800 m of all time, with a personal best of 1:42.05.[2]

In 2017, he left the UTEP Miners for a professional running contract with Nike, Inc.[3]

While at UTEP, he was coached by gold medalist Paul Ereng.[4]

He qualified to represent Kenya at the 2020 Summer Olympics[5] and won the gold medal in the 800 m race with a time of 1:45.06.[6]

He is single and his current residence is El Paso, Texas, USA.[6]
