Edwin Olivarez

Edwin de Leon Olivarez (born August 14, 1963) is a Filipino politician, athlete, and businessman who served as Mayor of Parañaque since 2013.[1][2] He also concurrently serves as the Metro Manila Council Chair and head of the Regional Peace and Order Council – National Capital Region.[3] He previously served as the Member of the Philippine House of Representatives from Parañaque's 1st District from 2010 until 2013 and as Vice Governor of Laguna under Teresita Lazaro from 2004 until 2007. He was also a board member of Laguna prior to his election as Vice Governor. He unsuccessfully ran for Governor of Laguna in 2007.[4]

Olivarez played on the national tennis team, and was NCAA Junior and Senior Tennis Champion.[5][6]

Olivarez is the son of former mayor Pablo Olivarez, and he is currently married to Janet Angeles and they have three children.[5]
