Dudes (album)

Dudes is the sixth studio album by singer-songwriter David Mead. It was "funded entirely by fans, friends and lovers," according to the liner notes; Mead raised $20,925 from 253 donors on Kickstarter to cover the recording, manufacturing, and distribution of Dudes.[1][2] He documented the recording of the album on his YouTube channel in January 2011.[3]

"The Smile of Rachael Ray" was NPR's Song of the Day on December 14, 2011; Stephen Thompson called it "a new Christmas classic; a minor miracle worthy of the season that surrounds it."[4] Reviewing Dudes for American Songwriter, Hal Horowitz wrote, "The music is all sparkling, effervescent, hooky pop with spicy, witty lyrics you’ll be singing after the first spin,"[5] while the music blog Powerpopaholic hailed it as "one of the most intricately crafted pop albums of the year."[6]
