Dax George-Kelly

Dakorinama Alabo George Kelly PhD, popularly known as Dax George-Kelly (born on December 23), is a Nigerian politician and revered surveyor of Kalabari extraction in Rivers State. He was Project manager, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) before his appointment in 2019 by the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON, PoSAfrica, as Special adviser and Head of Bureau for Special Projects.[1]

He is a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and one of the Governorship aspirants of the party in the 2023 Rivers State gubernatorial election. His interest in the governance of the State as the next governor was greeted with an overwhelming support across the state.

Before his appointment, Dax George-Kelly worked for Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as a Principal Manager (Infrastructure) for 18 years, initiating, planning and managing over 500 Civil engineering and building projects.

He has distinguished himself as a world class-chartered Quantity Surveyor and Cost Engineer, highly experienced in Project Management, Cost Planning, Value Engineering, Risk Management and Civil Engineering.[2] He was quoted to be the brain behind many infrastructural projects in Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike's administration, especially the construction of many flyover bridges in Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor metropolis by the German Julius Berger.[3] Dax George-Kelly has managed over 100 projects at the bureau, some of which have been completed and other at various levels of completion.
