ClearBrain, Inc. is an American company that develops self-serve causal product analytics.[1][2] The company was acquired by Amplitude on March 10, 2020.[3][4][5][6]

History

ClearBrain was founded in 2016 by Bilal Mahmood and Eric Pollmann and headquartered in Palo Alto, California.[7] The company offers software to predict which audiences are going to perform an action based on their previous actions.[2][8]

ClearBrain raised initial funding from Y Combinator.[9] The company went on to raise a seed round of $3.2m in 2018 from early stage investors including Menlo Ventures and Instacart co-founder Max Mullen.[10] ClearBrain was the first investment made by Menlo Ventures Investing Partner Naomi Pilosof Ionita.[11]

Customers of ClearBrain include Chime, InVision, theSkimm, and Blinkit.[12]

ClearBrain was acquired by Amplitude for an undisclosed sum as that company's first acquisition.[13][14] The two companies began talking after Amplitude's co-founder and Chief Architect, Jeffrey Wang, sent an InMail congratulating ClearBrain on their launch.[15]
