Cinderella Obeñita

On 11 July 2021, Obeñita represented Cagayan de Oro at Binibining Pilipinas 2021 in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Receiving the most votes online, she won the People's Choice award and automatically earned a spot in the Top 13.[3][4]

In the final round Michael Cinco asked Obeñita, "How important are luxury items such as bags, clothes and jewelry for a woman, when the national economy is down and struggling?"

"In life, we always find ourselves at a crossroads of choices. Women always have a choice - whether to prioritize luxury goods when we face a pandemic, and we also have the choice to embrace the concept of 'New Beauty', which is responsive to the needs of the times, and adaptive to changing times. I think I will choose to be that woman, who understands the problems of the Philippines, the problems of my community, so that we can lift each other up. I will be that kind of woman, to comfort the suffering and oppress the comfortable."

At the end of the event, Obeñita was named Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2021 by Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019, Emma Tiglao.

On October 29, 2021, Obeñita represented Philippines at Miss Intercontinental 2021 and competed with 71 other candidates at the Hotel Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

During the contest's question and answer session, she was asked: "As an international ambassador, do you believe that speaking English is important for Miss Intercontinental? Why or why not?"

“As an ambassador, I don't think that speaking a certain language is very important here at Miss Intercontinental or any contest. As long as the woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment, and intelligence. It doesn't matter what language it is. that she wears, and that woman is actually a woman of style and substance, so she can win any contest or any endeavor she enters. Also, very importantly, I have actually learned here at Miss Intercontinental, that a woman has to have the power of substance. And I believe I am that woman because that's the essence of modern Miss Intercontinental -- that we live in a world that is very difficult to survive in. And as Miss Intercontinental, I want to be a source of that hope. , the source of inspiration for the power of true beauty and which is felt in the kindness of our hearts and surely in the sincerity of our acts of love."

At the end of the event, Obeñita won the competition and was crowned as Miss Intercontinental 2021 by the title holder Fanni Mikó from Hungary. Obeñita is the second title holder of Philippines after Karen Gallman won Miss Intercontinental 2018.[5][6]
