Christine Drazan

Christine Drazan (born May 28, 1972) is an American politician from Oregon. A Republican, she was the minority leader of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2019 to 2021, and represented House District 39 in Clackamas County, Oregon until January 2022. She was first elected in 2018.[1]

Early life and career

Prior to her election, Drazan served as executive director of the non-profit Cultural Advocacy Coalition.[2] In the 1990s, she worked as chief of staff to former Oregon House majority leader and Speaker of the House Mark Simmons.[3]

In September 2019, Oregon House Republicans selected the first-term Drazan to replace Carl Wilson as minority leader.[3] After making plans to run for Governor in 2022, she stepped down as minority leader in November 2021, being replaced by Vikki Breese-Iverson,[4] and later resigned from her House seat in January 2022,[5] with James Hieb appointed to fill her seat.[6]

Personal life

Drazan lives in rural Clackamas County near Canby with her husband Dan and three children.[7]
