Children of Songea

Founded in 2005, Children of Songea is a registered Scottish charitable organization[1] with a vision for every child to thrive in a world free from poverty.

The charity's missions is to transform the lives of children and families living in extreme poverty by delivering education, healthcare, habitat and community programmes. The charity operates in Ruvuma ward on the outskirts of Songea town in Tanzania where many families struggle to meet even their most basic needs.

Children of Songea has directly supported hundreds of children and their families to build a better life. In October 2020, the charity was converted into a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) following a merger with their Tanzanian partner, Watoto Trust.
