Once accepted into said program you would spend the next two years completing both your high school diploma as well as your Associate of Arts degree. Application Process

To apply for this program you must be a high school junior or senior with an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher to qualify for COL’s Information Systems, Allied Health, or Criminal Justice program, or a 3.0 unweighted GPA for the AA (Associate of Arts) degree program. You must have a minimum of 11 high school credits at the end of your tenth-grade year and be on track for earning a standard Florida high school diploma. The process in which applicants are picked resembles a raffle ticket, those who meet the requirements are chosen at random to attend. Things needed to be submitted with the application include PERT scores (not all three have the submitted one or two will suffice). The math PERT is required for further collegiate placement. You will also need to submit your high school transcript.

Cost

Many enjoy the opportunity this program provides as it is free of cost. This includes textbooks and courses. (textbooks are on loan for the semester and must be returned).

Location

Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School is located at the Polk State College Winter Haven campus. However, you can take your college classes at any Polk State location. You can also take classes during the summer terms and evenings at no additional cost. COL has advisers to help you find the schedule and coursework that best fit your special talents, plans and capabilities. Upon acceptance, an initial academic planning meeting is scheduled to create a plan of study for your last two years of high school. Your counselor will guide and advise you through the process of registration and choosing classes.
