Candy (TV series)
Candy is an upcoming American crime drama streaming television miniseries created by Nick Antosca and Robin Veith.[1] The series stars Jessica Biel as the real-life Candy Montgomery, who was accused of brutally murdering her best friend, Betty Gore (played by Melanie Lynskey) in 1980s Texas.[2] It is scheduled to premiere on May 9, 2022, on Hulu.[3]

Premise
Candy Montgomery, a suburban housewife, is accused of murdering her friend Betty Gore, after having a love affair with Gore's husband.

Production
Development
In July 2020, it was announced UCP was developing a series revolving around Candy Montgomery, with Robin Veith writing the pilot for the series, and Nick Antosca set to executive produce under his Eat the Cat banner, with no network attached.[2] In December 2020, it was announced Hulu had landed the series.[6] It is set to be released on May 9, 2022, with a new episode for five nights until May 13.[3]
Casting
Upon the initial announcement, Elisabeth Moss's casting was announced.[2] In October 2021, Jessica Biel joined the cast of the series, replacing Moss who exited due to scheduling conflicts.[7] That same month, Melanie Lynskey, Pablo Schreiber and Timothy Simons joined the cast of the series.[8][9][10] It was later announced Raúl Esparza had joined the cast.[5]
Filming
Principal photography began by February 2022,[11] and took place in Decatur, Georgia.[12]
