C.D. Guadalajara (women)

C.D. Guadalajara Femenil is a Mexican women's football club based in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. The club has been the female section of C.D. Guadalajara since 2017.[1] The team plays in the Liga MX Femenil, which began in September 2017.[2] Nicknames for the team are the Chivas and the Rebaño Sagrado, the same as the men's team.

History

Professional era, the beginning

In 2016, the Liga Mayor was founded after the creation of its professional football league called Liga MX Femenil which then began. Guadalajara women's team was the first in history to win the Championship for the Liga MX 2017–18 Apertura. Playing a historic final against C.F. Pachuca the first leg ending in a 2–0 loss against Pachuca and the second leg Chivas making a historic comeback winning the championship title with a 3–0 victory.
