Career

He started his hurling career at a young age in his back garden with his close relative and deer friend Bill O’Flynn.

By the age of 11 he had mastered the art of hurling loose ball and striking off the left in space. So well that it came to the forth of their very impressive victory in Sciath na Scoil. A star studded side and nothing to be frowned upon.

A fact that not many know is he once played on a team with thurles cbs where he wasn’t sweeper but Donnchadh Quirke from clonoulty Rossmore played sweeper. He is a striking young fellow at 6 foot 4 inches.

O'Mara made his senior debut for Tipperary on 25 January 2020 in the opening round of the 2020 National Hurling League against Limerick in a 0-18 to 2-14 defeat.[1][2]

O'Mara will miss the 2022 season as he is due to go travelling during the summer months.[3]
