Signed by Livingston after a freshman college season at DePaul Blue Demons in his native United States,[4] Schwake's first months in Scotland were complicated by the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. He spent a loan spell with Linlithgow Rose in 2020, featuring in their run in the 2020–21 Scottish Cup,[5][6] and another loan with Edinburgh City in the 2021–22 season.[1][7][8]
